Revolving Loan Fund Program
The Montgomery-Blacksburg-Christiansburg (MBC) Development Corporation is a local, non-profit, community development corporation. It was created to enhance and broaden the employment base in Montgomery County by providing small business with low interest loans not available form conventional sources. The recipients of MBC loans are small businesses that are deemed to have potential growth and success in their area of expertise or specialization. Typically, the loan period is five years or less, making it a short-term loan. The amount of the loan is determined by need and availability of funds (generally $5,000 to $50,000). Repayment terms generally require monthly or quarterly payments of principal and interest.
MBC seeks to fund small business needs where:
- A financial supplement may be needed to “bridge” the gap between private investment and traditional borrowing.
- Capital for a project is required to facilitate the participation of others.
MBC minimum requirements for applications:
- Company to be located in Montgomery County, Town of Blacksburg, or Town of Christiansburg
- Prepare comprehensive Business Plan
- Submit related financial documents
**A business involved primarily in General Retail Trade IS NOT eligible for MBC loans.
